I am back but time has flown so fast. I just want to share some of my best times with you but dont know where to start. Since i have not learnt how to make a movie i am going to show you some pics of my favourite views.
Konya is one of Turkey’s most devout and conservative towns and visitors coming even from Istanbul find themsleves in a different world. I visited Konya and Cappadocia for 3 days and it was a wonderfull experience. I have always wanteded to visit Rumi's place and see the whirling dervishes.
Unfortunatley i wasn't able to take many photos of the dervishes because its not easy to get at them.lol but i did take some of Rumi's burial place and the tombs or other sofi.s.
Jalaleddin Rumi was one of the great spiritual masters and poetic geniuses of mankind, and the Mevlevi Sufi order was founded to follow his teachings. He was born in 1207 in Balkh in present day Afghanistan to a family of learned theologians. Escaping the Mongol invasion, he and his family traveled extensively in Muslim lands, performed pilgrimage to Mecca and visited Medina; the journey brought the family to Erzincan and then Karaman, where Rumi studied for a short period in the Halaveye School. In 1228, at the invitation of the Sultan of the Seljuks, Alaeddin Keykubad, they settled in Konya, Anatolia, in present day Turkey, then part of the Seljuk Empire. Here Jalaleddin married and lived with his wife, Gevher Hatun, who bore him two children. He is called ‘Rumi,’ meaning ‘Anatolian’ because of his life in that place. He also gained the title Mevlana which means ‘Our Master’ through his life’s work there.
Rumi's tomb in Konya, Turkey. When his father Bahauddin Veled passed away in 1231, Rumi succeeded him as professor in religious sciences at the largest theological school in Konya. Only 24 years old, Rumi was already an accomplished scholar in religious and positive sciences. He died on the 17th of December 1273 in Konya, where he had spent most of his adult life and composed all his works, and where his tomb lies today.
Rumi's poetry and prose writings have a spiritual content that is the universal language of the human soul. If you have never read his works i would suggest you do.
Rumi’s life and works show us that it is not faith, belief and religion which cause hatred, conflict and violence, but the sins of hatred and greed and other symptoms of the unrestrained ego, and he showed us how the true practice of religion, the purification of the heart, is the remedy for these.
About Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi
About Konya
I just cannot write enough about Cappadocia there is so much history accross Turkey a message board is not the place.
Cappadocia is a region rather than a place and we saw some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, formed in ancient times by volcanic activity and later by erosion, and then harnessed by the human inhabitants in the area, who created have some of the most interesting dwellings to be found. Our journey took us into the midst of this fairytale landscape, where we walked amongst rock cones, capped pinnacles, fretted ravines and fairy chimneys, and also discover historic Christian art. The Taurus Mountains are part of the great chain that stretches all the way across to the Himalaya.
About Cappadocia
Welcome back, nice pictures, I wish I was there.
You make me wanna go back.

Welcome back love and thanks for sharing your trip with us
( I feel so guilty being so lucky)
Wow! What a fab trip you had. The only thing I would suggest for your cat is something called "Feliway". It's a pheromone that reduces stress in cats. You can plug in a diffuser or use a spray. Either get it from your vet or from www.petdrugsonline.co.uk Maybe it will do the trick! I found it helped when I got a new cat and my older one was stressed about it.
oh well that is ok it is just good to have you there, your presence is always worth the moment
